Textiles and Leather

The term 'textiles' refers to any material made of interlacing fibres. Fibres were successfully made into fabric as far back as the stone Age. Textiles remain central to our lives and are at the heart of the world's largest industries. The work of Guild members using textiles as their chosen medium incorporates a wide variety of materials and techniques - from loom woven, hand braided and knitted yarns to embroidered and manipulated fabrics, stitched plant papers, silk batik and rag rugs.
